Axcelis to buy Matrix Integrated Systems

July 8, 2003 – Axcelis Technologies Inc., Beverly, MA, has acquired Matrix Integrated Systems, a Richmond, CA dry strip equipment supplier, for $14 million in cash. The deal supports the company’s long-term diversification strategy, according to Axcelis. The two companies had a combined market share of 18.2% in 2002.
