June 20, 2003 – As part of an ongoing joint initiative, Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing and the Virtual Component Exchange have rolled out a Web portal where chip designers can find third-party intellectual property blocks for Chartered’s semiconductor manufacturing processes.

The Chartered-VCX Foundry IP program sets up requirements to monitor IP quality standards, and track design practices and qualification data; validation reports are reviewed and datasheets updated to reflect actual results.

Launched in early 2002, the program is an effort to educate Chartered customers using VCX’s IP in their system-on-chip designs.
