ST Assembly buys Conexant testing assets

December 16, 2002 – SINGAPORE – ST Assembly Test Services Ltd. said its US subsidiary would acquire the manufacturing assets of communications chipmaker Conexant Systems Inc., San Diego, CA, according to Reuters.

The company said its purchase of Conexant’s communications test floor operation includes mixed-signal testers, test handlers, and prober equipment in exchange for cash and services.

The deal also includes a long-term business relationship between the two firms for test services. ST Assembly did not disclose a price for the transaction and company officials were unavailable to comment.
