LSI Logic joins HyperTransport Technology Consortium

Jan 15, 2002 – Milpitas, CA – LSI Logic Corp. has joined the HyperTransport Technology Consortium. By incorporating HyperTransport technology into its product plans, LSI Logic is demonstrating its commitment to this free and open industry standard aimed at removing system design bottlenecks and dramatically increasing the performance of future equipment designs.

LSI Logic plans, initially, to offer the HyperTransport physical I/O layer to ASIC customers as part of its Gflx 0.11-micron process technology CoreWare Library with microprocessor cores including MIPS, ARM, and ZSP digital signal processor cores plus application-specific cores including Ethernet, Fibre Channel, GigaBlaze, HyperPHY, USB, and 1394. This availability will provide customers and the market with the enhancements and capabilities that they are asking for in order to meet complex designs. Application Specific Standard Product roadmaps will also incorporate HyperTransport Technology into future product plans.
