Mykrolis acquires semiconductor component maker Bentec

August 16, 2004 – Mykrolis Corp. (MYK) acquired assets of Bentec Scientific LLC, which makes components used in semiconductor manufacturing. Financial terms were not dislcosed, according to Dow Jones News.

California-based Bentec makes polyvinyl alcohol-based components used in semiconductor manufacturing. Mykrolis, which supplies components and subsystems to the semiconductor industry, was previously the exclusive distributor of Bentec’s products, which are sold under the Planarcore brand name.

Planarcore products are used in post-chemical mechanical planarization and substrate cleaning, which are parts of the manufacturing process for advanced semiconductors and microelectronics.
