April 15, 2004 – Renesas Technology Corp., the JV between Hitachi and Mitsubishi, plans a 6x increase in capacity of AND-type flash memory by the end of March 2006, a move that would more than double its market share to 15%, according to Dow Jones.
The company, which currently has capacity of 2.0 million 512-megabit AND memory chips/month, said the increase was already included in its 58 billion yen capacity investment plan for the fiscal year ended in March.
