January 16, 2006 – IMEC’s Europractice IC service has added a 90nm multiproject wafer run using UMC’s 90nm logic and mixed/RF process technology, extending a collaboration that has included access to UMC’s 0.25-0.13 micron offerings.

The service targets European based companies — startups and niche suppliers, universities, and research centers — with low-volume manufacturing needs, and IMEC’s mini@sic program reduces prototyping costs for small designs to less than 20% of normal foundry shuttle prices.
