June 16, 2006 – Mosaid Technologies, Ottawa, Canada, and Infineon Technologies and memory spinoff Qimonda AG, have settled a patent dispute involving two sets of litigation in the US. Under terms of the deal, Infineon and Qimonda have purchased a six-year license to the entire Mosaid patent portfolio, and also will receive a “lives of the patents” license to patent families in question.

Mosaid also has purchased 50 patents from Infineon and Qimonda, incorporating a range of technologies including DRAM memory, power management ICs, semiconductor process technology, and digital radio. Payment will be spread over a six-year period.

Specific financial details were not disclosed, although Infineon and Qimonda will begin payments in 2Q07. Mosaid has raised its fiscal 2007 guidance to revenues of $83-$88 million, and net income of $21-$23 million, up from earlier estimates of $70-$75 million in sales and net earnings of $15-$17 million.
