August 15, 2006 – RF components supplier Sirenza Microdevices Inc., Broomfield, CO, has agreed to acquire fabless company Micro Linear Corp. in a stock deal valued at about $45.6 million.

Under the deal, Micro Linear’s wireless IC offerings, including RF CMOS and bi-CMOS design as well as silicon-based transceivers, will be added to Sirenza’s SMDI business segment, expanding its portfolio of integrated RF IC products for consumer applications. The move strengthens Sirenza’s position in digital TV set-top boxes, and also opens inroads into markets for high-volume digital cordless phones and PHS terminals, according to Robert Van Buskirk, president and CEO of Sirenza Microdevices.

“We believe the acquisition of Micro Linear is another significant step toward achieving our strategic goals of diversifying our end markets, expanding our product breadth and strengthening our world-class RF core competencies,” he stated.

“Sirenza and Micro Linear have complementary technologies and products and the combined company can leverage its extensive high-volume IC production capabilities for world-class transceiver/tuner products targeted
at a wide variety of global wireless applications,” added Timothy Richardson, Micro Linear president and CEO.
