SiOnyx awarded $3M program from the DoD

SiOnyx, Inc. — the company that developed a semiconductor process called Black Silicon which dramatically enhances the sensitivity of silicon-based photonics — announced the award of a multiphase contract from the Office of Naval Research (ONR) and Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWC DD) in support of the Detect program.  Detect looks to develop next generation sensing technologies for detecting laser light in targeting systems.  The collaboration will advance visible, near infrared, and short-wavelength infrared (VIS-NIR-SWIR) camera technology.
