(January 13, 2009) BRUSSELS, Belgium — SEMI Europe confirmed that Anatoly Chubais, head of Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies (RUSNANO) will join the roster of keynote speakers at this year’s Industry Strategy Symposium (ISS Europe), February 1-3, 2009, Dresden, Germany. Chubais will offer his insights and experiences on the state of the semiconductor industry in Russia.
Chubais is reportedly very familiar with the Russian high-tech industries and the current economic situation in Russia. In the 1990’s, prior to his position at RUSNANO, the state-owned investment corporation for nanotechnology, hubais was the first deputy chairman of the Russian government and minister of finance of the Russian Federation. He headed the Russian economy and industry privatization under former President Boris Yeltsin.
In his keynote address, he will outline the RUSNANO mission and strategies on commercialization of nanotechnology projects with high business potential and/or social benefit. He will also share his vision on cooperation between RUSNANO and European business in semiconductor-related areas.
Chubais joins an impressive list of industry executives set to address the ongoing challenge of setting a strategic direction and leadership for Europe in this evolving global semiconductor market.
