Designers of high capacity ICs — complex digital radio frequency (RF) CMOS ICs and GaAs/SiGe RF ICs — can access the circuit-simulation software, to handle high transistor counts without changing design methodologies. “We have developed this integrated software to cut down on engineering time,” explained Ravenstahl, adding that transistor-level time- and frequency-domain simulations created within the Cadence methodology reduce back-tracking during the design process.
