AMD Opens R&D Center in Shanghai

(August 23, 2006) SHANGHAI, China &#151 AMD opened its multi-million dollar R&D facility at the Zhang Jiang technology complex in Shanghai, China. AMD plans to employ more than a hundred workers at the design facility to create, validate, and test next-generation microprocessors and mobile platforms. Partnerships and customer collaborations through the SRDC facility are part of AMD’s corporate strategy to invest in China, said Dirk Meyer, president and COO of AMD.
