Rosemount Analytical and Eli Lilly have partnered on the development of the first on-line sterilization monitor for operators of sterilization processes. The AOTF-NIR Analyzer directly measures and quantifies levels of sterilant in sterilization processes, directly impacting plant economics, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. The product can supplement laboratory analysis and biological indicators (after validation). The system consists of four components: an analyzer module, fiberoptics, a calibration module and a sample cell. The patented AOTF-NIR uses Acousto-Optic Tunable Filter technology to tune a near-infrared light source, combining sound waves and electrical energy to diffract near-infrared wavelengths without moving parts. The analyzer measures components by tuning to discrete wavelengths or scanning the entire NIR spectrum.
