BOC Edwards acquires Semco Corp.

April 30, 2002–Wilmington, MA–BOC Edwards announced its acquiring CA- based, Semco Corporation. Once the transaction is complete, Semco will be merged into BOC Edwards’ Chemical Management business.

"The Semco acquisition reinforces BOC Edwards’ position as a leader of wet process-enabling technologies to the semiconductor industry," said Neels Kriek, BOC Edwards Chemical Management Division president.

The company said it also hopes to strengthen its OEM programs and "increase our rate of innovation in the critical areas of deposition, etch, clean and planarization" Kriek adds.

Semco designs and manufactures high efficiency, process-critical, liquid chemical blend, delivery and collection systems used in rapidly growing wet deposition processes, such as copper plating, a common application in the semiconductor manufacturing industry, according to a company release.
