CLARCOR acquires Total Filter

AUG. 22–ROCKFORD, Ill., — CLARCOR Inc. has acquired Total Filter Technology Inc. (Chelmsford, MA), a manufacturer of melt blown and string wound filter cartridges and liquid filter bags.

The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“Major companies in the chemical, food and beverage, water, paint and general industrial markets use these filters to eliminate contaminants throughout their manufacturing processes. We are very excited about being able to now manufacture these products within CLARCOR,” says Norm Johnson, CLARCOR’s chairman and chief executive.

The acquisition, he adds, furthers CLARCOR’s “Total Filtration Program,” saying its products complement other process liquid filters CLARCOR already manufactures, including pleated membrane and depth cartridges.

“Customer demand for process liquid filters has grown substantially in recent years and we expect this to continue,” Johnson says. “We plan to significantly expand TFT’s manufacturing capacity over the next several years.”
