Corning puts "For Sale" sign on facility in Nashua, NH

December 26, 2001 — Nashua, NH — Corning Lasertron is selling its 335,165 square feet building located in Southern New Hampshire.

Sixteen months ago Corning announced big plans for the building, however, since the downturn that has all changed. The building was scheduled to open in October 2001 with a staff of 850. If business went well another 1,000 workers were going to be hired, according to The Nashua Telegraph.

The facility is said to have some 28,200 square feet of cleanroom space and is 70 to 80 percent complete, according to Thomas Farrelly of Cushman & Wakefield, the firm Corning hired to sell the building. The building is on the market for $13.5 million.

“We haven’t had anyone step up and say, `that’s the glass slipper,’ but there’s been a high curiosity factor about the property, we’ve had quite a few calls about it,” Farrelly told the newspaper.
