SAN JOSE, CA — JDS Uniphase Corp. has opened a 320,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Shenzen, China that includes 150,000 square feet of ISO Class 7 (Class 10,000) cleanroom space.
The new facility is currently manufacturing a number of passive optical components for dense wavelength division multiplexing systems and there are plans to add new product lines like active components and modules. The facility, under construction since April, 2000 is part of JDS Uniphase’s ongoing expansion.

Shenzen is located close to Hong Kong within the Futian Free Trade Zone. JDS Uniphase’s operations are ISO 9002 certified and the products manufactured at the site pass the Telcordia 1221 reliability assurance requirements.
