July 3, 2001 — MANILLA — Siemens has merged its Philippine building technology businesses into a single entity that will house four divisions, including security systems, fire safety, building automation and HVAC products.
The new entity, Siemens Building Technologies, will be housed in the Pilgrim Building in Makati City, according to an Asia Pulse report. The company’s main markets will include of cleanrooms, pharmaceutical plants, data centers, laboratories, commercial buildings, airports, and hotels among others.
Officials say the consolidation is part of the company’s value creation program.
“The goal of this program is to analyze the potential for value creation in the company’s portfolio of activities in order to maintain a leading position in the future with regard to growth and profitability,” said Borys Priadko, president and CEO of SBT, was quoted as saying.
The merger also means that two of the company’s leading brands in building technology, Landts & Staefa (HVAC products) and Swiss Cerebus Chittick (security and fire solutions) will be housed under SBT
