May 10, 2001 — SALEM, NH — Optical networking presence Lightchip Inc. this week opened its new corporate headquarters, which includes manufacturing and cleanroom space.
The 65,000 square-foot facility houses an ISO Class 7 (Class 10,000) cleanroom, product support lab, and manufacturing floor that features a flexible grid which allows the company to change its configuration in 24 hours. The site also contains 12 high-tech optical control labs.
“This is a major milestone for Lightchip,” said Isadore Katz, Lightchip’s CEO and president. ” With the completion of our building, we are beginning the fulfillment of our goal to be a world-class supplier to the optical communications industry.”
A number of NH officials were on hand for the opening ceremony, including Congressman Charles Bass, who noted the state’s technology growth in recent years.
“The State of New Hampshire has exploded onto the national high tech map,” said Bass. “Lightchip’s growth and innovation in the new economy has played an important role in the state’s high tech development.”
