July 26, 2006 — /CH2M HILL/ — Denver, CO — Dr. James Ferris, Industrial Client Group Chief Executive for global engineering and construction firm CH2M HILL, has announced his plans to retire effective September 1, 2006. Dr. Ferris has worldwide responsibility for all of CH2M HILL’s industrial, manufacturing, and energy and power businesses. Ferris will continue to serve as a director on CH2M HILL’s board, and as a consultant and advisor to the firm.
Dr. Ferris joined the CH2M HILL management team in January 1994, as President of the then-new Federal Group. One of Ferris’s first initiatives was to build a Department of Energy business, which was successfully launched with CH2M HILL’s selection as DOE’s Rocky Flats contractor in 1995. Under Ferris’s leadership CH2M HILL’s Federal business grew from just over $50 million in annual revenue, to its current level of about $1.5 billion.

In addition to Ferris’s responsibilities at CH2M HILL, he also serves as a Director on several boards and is a Trustee of The Keystone Center, a not-for-profit enterprise dedicated to the development of technological based policy directives for environmental sustainability around the globe. Dr. Ferris has participated in the World Economic Forum (WEF) at Davos, Switzerland and the Engineering and Construction (E&C) Governors Committee at WEF. He also has been a member of the Prince of Wales Business Leaders Forum, and the G8 Renewable Energy Task Force.
Dr. Ferris resides in Castle Rock, Colorado, with his spouse, Babetta Paterno Ferris. They have three sons and two grandchildren.
