Coroplast, Inc. has introduced Coroplast CI and SI, two cleanroom-compatible products designed to provide long-term protection against corrosive gases in the packaging and storage of sensitive electronics. Coroplast SI has the added feature of protecting sensitive, non-hardened electronic components and assemblies against damage from ESD. It also covers surface resistivities of 1 &#165 106 – 1 &#165 109 ohms/sq. and contains no amine or amide-based volatile additives. The corrugated packing material permanently neutralizes corrosive gases, without outgassing, prevents galvanic coupling between metals, and leaves no deposits. Both products are fully recyclable, breaking down into polymer dust in anaerobic environments such as landfills.
