Osmonics has developed a new spiral-wound membrane element designed for the pharma ceutical industry. The new USPG membrane element features a polished 316L stainless-steel permeate tube and a full-fit design that expands to fill the housings, eliminating potential dead spaces where bacteria can accumulate. The stainless steel permeate tube in the new USPG element ensures that the product`s water contacts only stainless-steel piping components during its production. USPG membrane elements are constructed of FDA-acceptable materials and are Class VI tested and approved. When used in a pharmaceutical-designed two-pass RO system, USPG membrane elements consistently produce pure water that meets USP 23 specifications, according to Osmonics.
