Motorola fab gets upgrade
Houston, TX–Lepco Incorporated recently completed an upgrade to an existing 23,500-ft2 Class 50,000/100,000 cleanroom for Motorola in Taiwan. The upgrade included ceiling filtration, the installation of Lepco Membrane Diffusion technology–a secondary ceiling grid system providing unidirectional air flow within the cleanroom environment–and low sidewall return air walls. The cleanroom was upgraded to Class 100/Class 1,000.
Lepco has also contracted with Semiconductor Complex Ltd. to provide a Class 1 environmental chamber and utility support system for Perkin-Elmer`s MEBES III (Manufacturing Electron Beam Exposure System). Environmental enclosure design conditions required dry bulb control to 70F at ( 0.018F and 45 percent (ۯ percent RH across the plane of the room. Utility support skids were engineered and fabricated by Lepco prior to shipment. The air-conditioning system provided complete redundancy through the use of a Lepco-designed secondary and primary chilled water skid. The complete environmental chamber, air-conditioning system and utility support skids were retrofitted within an existing facility.
