Micro Clean presents the LFS01, the first cotton swab that combines the absorption qualities of cotton and the lint-free, adhesive-free requirements of cleanroom standards, according to the company. Under a technology license from NASA, the company has manufactured a cotton swab enclosed in a nylon sheath; the wood dowel handle is enclosed within a shrink film to ensure zero fiber release or contamination from either component. The shrink film allows the dowel to absorb more stress, making it more ergonomic and less likely to slip in the hand. Both sheathing and shrink film materials can be custom designed for special applications and fluid compatibility.
