Filter cartridges

Corning Costar introduces the Nuclepore brand QMC filter, which can function as both a final filter and a pre-filter in a variety of applications: pre-filtration for reverse osmosis and deionized water systems; pre-filtration for serum and plasma products and wine; protection of carbon beds, ion exchange beds and membrane filters; beverage clarification; magnetic coatings, and plating and photographic solutions. Made of 100 percent polypropylene, the QMC has a nominal rating of 95 percent from 0.1 to 1.0 &#181m and absolute ratings (99 percent) from 0.8 to 2.5 &#181m. It is binderless, physiologically inert and compatible with a broad range of chemicals. No surfactants or additives are used in the manufacturing process. Also, all QMC cartridges pass USP XXII Class VI and physiochemical Plastic Tests, as well as tests for cytotoxicity, hemolysis and pyrogenicity. They easily withstand repeated exposure to chemicals used in water treatment and filter cleaning.
