MARCH 19–GREEN BAY, Wisconsin–American Foods Group has recalled 106,000 pounds of ground beef sold at Kroger and Meijer stores.

The company says the beef was sold in several states, including Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois and Kentucky. The recall follows concerns about possible bacterial contamination. Federal officials are testing whether the meat could be responsible for E-coli infections in three Ohio children. Officials say the children became ill in early February, all with the same strain of the bacteria.

American Foods Group says none of the beef is currently in stores.
