HEPA-filtered portable dust collector

HEPA-filtered portable dust collector

Air Quality Engineering, Inc. has announced its new, portable dust collector for the removal of welding fumes, grinding dust and other industrial process smokes, dusts and contaminants. The Model AQE 2000 is a cartridge reverse-pulse unit. Airborne contaminants enter through the hood/arm assembly. Heavy particles are propelled downward through the venturi and into the clean-out trays. Submicron particles are trapped within the pleats of the two 99.8 percent-efficient cartridge filters. The clean air is then gently diffused out the bottom of the unit. In the upgraded version, air is passed through a HEPA filter before being exhausted out the side of the unit. When the filter gauge indicates the cartridge filters are dirty, they can be easily cleaned by connecting a shop air hose (80-120 psi) to the unit and activating the reverse-pulse system. Other features are a high air volume (1100 cfm) to ensure adequate suction; an externally supported 11-ft. 1-in. arm with full 360 rotation, and 340 ft2 of cartridge filter media.
