Article sparks business
To the Editor:
As subscribers to CleanRooms, we would like to thank you very much for your enlightening special report on cleanroom laundries (“How to choose a cleanroom laundry,” Jan. 1996, p. 12). In addition to general cleanroom laundry concepts, the article has proven to be a significant source of technology trends and a guide to key persons active in this area.
We have already made good use of the information–we`ve approached the experts who were mentioned in your article, because microcontamination control technology is needed in the fast-growing Israeli high tech microelectronics industry. As you might be aware, several leading worldwide companies are initiating or considering startups here. Recently, the Government of Israel approved a matching $600 million to Intel`s $1.1 billion investment. Orbit Semiconductor is considering a $200 million investment in an 8-in. wafer fab. Tower is in the process of spending $200 million, and Motorola is investigating a $1 billion investment in semiconductor fabrication.
As a result of the tremendous growth in this industry, our company has decided to provide the needed microcontamination control support for the upcoming semiconductor industry.
We find your magazine a valuable source of detailed and reliable information. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your colleagues for your efforts to keep us updated.

Dentists can clean up
To the Editor:
After reading your editorial “Dentists, Clean Thyselves,” (CleanRooms, Feb.1996, p. 6), I thought you may want to read up on the Miele G7781 Dental Thermal Disinfector, which is used for thermal disinfection and cleaning of dental instruments and accessories. This system is used for both the protection of the dental professional and the patient. Miele has been selling the disinfector in Europe for a number of years and has recently received FDA approval in the United States.
Tests were conducted and show that the disinfector kills off tuberculosis, Hepatitis and HIV. For more information on the dental disinfector, contact our marketing manager, Dan McDougal at (800) 843-7231.
