Peterson named to CR Hall of Fame

Betty Peterson was named to the CleanRooms Hall of Fame at the CleanRooms West 2000 show held in Portland, OR, in October.

Peterson was the executive director of the former IES, which is now the IEST, from 1975 to 1986. It was during that time that she played an integral role in the merger of the American Association for Contamination Control and the IES.

A staunch supporter of the recommended practices program, Peterson organized meetings to draft standards, leading to several revisions of Federal Standard 209, major initiative for ISO standard. An honorary fellow of IES of the R3 Nordic Society, Peterson also received the 1975 IES President's Award.—MAD
