Cozzoli Machine Co. has redesigned the syringe and valve assembly for its liquid piston fillers, enhancing CIP/SIP capability. The pistons and cylinder walls no longer need to be removed for cleaning and changeover periods. The design eliminates human handling of parts that come into contact with the product. The new design accommodates cleaning media using the same pathway the filter uses to dispense product. The CIP requires manually shifting the spool of the valve assembly and the piston of the syringe into the cleaning positions. A special nozzle is provided for the SIP.
