Micro toolmaker sells to Irish university

Jan. 6, 2005 — Intelligent Micro Patterning LLC, a St. Petersburg, Fla., provider of micro patterning tools, announced the sale of an SF-100 maskless photolithography system to the Nanotechnology Research Institute, located at the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland.

The SF-100 is a maskless photolithography system that uses technology licensed by Intelligent Micro Patterning from the University of South Florida. The technology, known as Smart Filter, incorporates proprietary micro-optical techniques to rapidly project master images directly onto diverse substrate materials, such as quartz, ceramics, and plastics, without the use of photomasks. The main application for the system is fabricating micro- and nanosensors on three-dimensional media.
