Dai Nippon develops new screens for MEMS-based TVs

Jan. 12, 2005 — Dai Nippon Printing has announced that it has developed three types of screens for use in MEMS-based rear-projection televisions, according to Japan Corporate News Network.

The screens are made of two lens-sheets comprised of a number of micro-concentric Fresnel lenses and a reflection prism joined together. The screens are designed for optimal use with the latest digital light processing chip from Texas Instruments. Dai Nippon is expected to begin marketing the screens in April.
