Veeco names new senior VP

Mar. 16, 2005 — Veeco Instruments Inc. announced it has appointed Richard Wissenbach as senior vice president, general manager for its compound semiconductor/epitaxial process equipment group.

The group includes Veeco’s TurboDisc metal organic chemical vapor deposition operation in Somerset, N.J. and its molecular beam epitaxy operations in St. Paul, Minn. The two are critical epitaxial deposition steps that determine compound semiconductor device brightness and frequency.

Prior to joining Veeco, Wissenbach’s most recent position was as vice president, general manager, of the e-beam defect review division for KLA-Tencor in San Jose, Calif.
