Foresight Institute posts Productive Nanosystems documents

December 27, 2007 — According to the Foresight Nanotech Institute, an official announcement of the first version of the Technology Roadmap for Productive Nanosystems will be made in early January 2008. But for the time being, the organization has made available two documents, each weighing in at around 200 pages.

Productive Nanosystems: A Technology Roadmap provides a broad, integrated perspective on technologies and objectives together with a survey of applications and a policy-oriented call to action. Its Topics in Detail section explores contributing technologies in depth, surveying current capabilities important to APT (atomically precise technologies) and APM (atomically precise manufacturing) and discussing how they might be exploited to develop next-generation capabilities and applications.

The second pre-release document, Working Group Proceedings, is a collection of papers, extended abstracts, and personal perspectives contributed by participants in the Roadmap workshops and subsequent online exchanges.
