Aug. 6, 2004 — The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) announced the formation of ANSI-NSP, a new coordinating body for the development of nanotechnology standards.
The panel will convene Sept. 29 in Gaithersburg, Md., to address nomenclature and terminology, according to a news release, which said ANSI was asked by the Office of Science and Technology Policy to address nomenclature standardization issues.
A steering committee is being formed and will be co-chaired by Clayton Teague, director of the National Nanotechnology Coordination Office, Dr. Vicki Colvin, professor of chemistry at Rice University and David Bishop, vice president of nanotechnology research at Lucent Technologies.
