Prodisc licenses 3M optics technology

Aug. 26, 2004 – A Taiwanese company has licensed 3M technology that is applied in microdisplay-based projection engines, according to a news release.

Prodisc Technology Inc. will license several patents from subsidiary 3M Precision Optics related to hollow light tunnel technology. The tunnel unifies light form a point source and enhances the ability to create a uniform picture in light engines, such as Texas Instruments’ Digital Light Processing technology and liquid crystal on silicon technology.
