SEMI launches new set of standards

Feb. 9, 2004 — The Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI) trade group has published 25 new technical standards for the semiconductor and flat-panel display industries, according to a news release.

The standards include guidelines for defining the quality area of a liquid crystal display mask, formats for data management in the semiconductor exposure process and specifications for polished monocrystalline silicon carbide wafers. Technical experts participating in the SEMI International Standards Program developed the standards, which are designed to boost productivity in manufacturing.

The set is available for purchase on CD-ROMs or from the SEMI Web site.
