July 10, 2003 — Pearl Chin, a New York-based nanotechnology consultant, is soliciting investors for a proposed $100 million nanotechnology venture fund.

Chin, who is also a managing director of Cientifica Ltd., the business information and consulting arm of Madrid, Spain-based CMP Cientifica, said the fund will be called Seraphima Ventures. Cientifica will provide due diligence services on its investments.

“We’re actually going to approach it with more of an angel venture mentality,” Chin said. She said Seraphima would provide more management assistance and other services than a traditional venture firm. Chin currently runs Red Seraphim Consulting.
