Oct. 31, 2003 — Microvision Inc. has received $1 million to further develop a scanning engine for high-speed laser printers for an Asian manufacturer of printers and office equipment, according to a news release.

The contract follows one announced in June with the manufacturer, whose identity and specific product plans have not been disclosed. The Bothell, Wash.-based maker of MEMS-based display and imaging technologies said the contract demonstrates how its core technology can be adapted for many uses.
