Network Photonics to close, sell assets

The Boulder, Colo.-based developer of MEMS-based optical switches said it’s closing, following Transparent Networks’ decision to shut down. Both cited the stalled market, and are returning money to investors. Network Photonics said it’s attempting to sell its intellectual property and assets.

The company announced in February it had started shipping its CrossWave 1400 to customers. Network said it had 15 customers in North America, Europe and Asia.
