Amphora raises $23 million

Dec. 17, 2002 — Amphora Discovery Corp., a Research Triangle Park, N.C., biopharmaceutical company, raised $23 million in Series B financing, according to a news release. The funds will be used to commercialize Amphora’s drug discovery products, which use microfluidic assay technology.

ARCH Venture Partners, MPM Capital, Venrock Associates, CW Group and Versant Ventures participated in the round. All were previous investors. Amphora was spun out of Caliper Technologies Corp. in September 2001.
