US Global launches turret armor system

Dec. 3, 2002 — US Global Aerospace Inc. has launched a nanomaterial-based protection shield for military, police and security vehicles.

The Save a Gunner Turret Armor System provides durability, strength and low weight, which come from the company’s G-Lam nanofiber material. The turret system, which weighs less than 200 pounds, protects an otherwise fully exposed soldier from ballistic ordnance, according to Defense Week.

US Global, formerly Caring Products International Inc., said the system has been designed for the Humvee military vehicle, the report said.
