Oct. 29, 2002 — Pacific Nanotechnology Inc. said it has developed an atomic force microscope (AFM) designed to enable new and experienced users the ability to see and measure nanoscale structures in a research or industrial laboratory.
The firm said its goal is to put the Nano-R in the hands of every researcher to drive the development of nanoscale science and technology. The instrument includes image capture software with options for novice and advanced users, as well as two-dimensional and three-dimensional display modes.
The 5-year-old Santa Clara, Calif.-based company sells the AFM for about $70,000.
