Zyvex makes pact with Honeywell

Oct. 10, 2002 — Zyvex Corp. on Thursday officially announced the addition of Honeywell International Inc. to an existing five-year, $25 million industry-government program to create microscale assemblers and then bring them down to nanoscale.

As previously reported in Small Times, Honeywell replaces Standard MEMS, which was forced out by financial turmoil. Zyvex has been working with Honeywell’s MEMS foundry near Seattle through the $12.5 million matching grant from the National Institute of Science and Technology’s Advanced Technology Program.

Working with Zyvex and Honeywell are Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Center for Automation Technologies, University of Texas at Dallas and University of North Texas.
