July 23, 2002 — ViaLogy Corp. and Intel Corp. have developed a computational technology that the firms say will increase the performance of DNA microarray devices.
The technology, based on Intel’s Itanium 2 Processor, is designed to boost performance of drug discovery development instruments and platforms by enabling current instruments to detect biological and chemical signals up to 10,000 times lower than background noise. The companies say the breakthrough will yield time and cost savings for drug research, according to a ViaLogy news release.
ViaLogy is a portfolio company of ViaSpace Technologies, formed to commercialize technology from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and other government and university entities.
