Law firm names nanoscientist to IP post

June 25, 2002 — Nanotech expert Ed Mickelson has joined the Houston office of Winstead Sechrest & Minick as a patent agent within the law firm’s intellectual property section.

Mickelson, who worked as a surface scientist at Lockheed Martin Space Operations, specializes in IP patent applications in nanotechnology and chemical arts. Hiring Mickelson extends the firm’s expertise within its patent practice and boosts its plan to become an industry leader in client matters related to nanotech, according to a company news release.

Mickelson received both his bachelor’s and doctorate degrees in chemistry, and has co-authored numerous research papers and technical documents related to carbon nanotubes.
