April 10, 2003 — Five of 16 Hong Kong nanotech-related university research projects receiving public and private funding during the past five years have been transferred to local industries for further development, according to Xinhua, the official Chinese news agency.
Government officials said $20.6 million has come from government grants and nearly $5 million from industry sources. Projects under development include work on carbon nanotubes and nanostructures, the report said.
