Feb. 6, 2003 — Network Photonics, a Boulder, Colo.-based developer of MEMS-based optical switches, said it’s shipping its CrossWave 1400 to customers.
The switch, the second generation of the company’s MEMS switches, is designed as a building block for transparent switching nodes in long-haul, ultralong-haul and regional carrier networks. They are used with other optical switches at junction points to manage wavelength connections and deliver services.
Network said it has shipped its CrossWave line of switches to more than 15 customers in North America, Europe and Asia.
