Feb. 5, 2003 — Sun Microsystems Inc. is teaming up with the University of Alberta and Alberta’s provincial government to create a center for nanosystems development, according to a news release.
The Center of Excellence in Integrated NanoTools is being established at the school with more than $2 million worth of Sun’s hardware and software, $700,000 of in-kind contributions from the university and $500,000 from Alberta Innovation and Science, a governmental department for research and technology activities.
The release said the center will provide a place for researchers to design and understand nanosystems and their integration into future products.
